Daiya Kids Uganda was born out of the idea that children are as precious as diamonds in the rough. It’s only when a good workman does the polishing that their true value becomes more and more apparent.
Daiya, a word meaning unpolished diamonds, does reflect the children placed in our care. First, they are unassuming, sometimes disputable young children who need guidance and support. The skills of our staff and the support from our partners, slowly by slowly turn these rough diamonds of children into shining diamonds of immense value as they grow in such an environment that informs them of their true value.
